Mark wins the Lombard Qualifier

Congratulations to Mark Burkey on winning our Lombard Trophy qualifier with a fantastic score of 79-10-69. Mark played the front nine to handicap shooting 41 but stormed home in just 38 shots to pip Andrew Chamberlain, who won division 3 with 88-18-70, by a single shot. My son, Cameron Tye won division 1 with 74-2-72. CSS was 74 against a par or 72.

Mark will now go off to play the regional final with me at either Moortown 18th May or Sandiway 6th June, with a trip to Portugal as the top prize on the day.


Red Tees Stableford

We also have played a red tees Stableford this week, Steve Brown winning division 1 with 40 points and John Morris winning division 2 with a fantastic 42 points. CSS was 69 against a par of 70. 

Val Cunningaham shot a fantastic 33 points to win the ladies competition narrowly missing out on a handicap reduction.


 

Graham Roberts Golf Day

Friday Afternoon Roll-Up

We are still growing the numbers of juniors learning to play our great game at Eaton, and continue to bring in new initiatives and new people to help delivery of these new ideas.

Last week saw the first Friday afternoon roll-up competition being played. This is going to be a regular event every week, tee permitting. So, if you have a young golfer, boy or girl in the family, who would like to take part, get them to join the club. Fees have been reduced over the last 2 years and this year continue to have added value with 15 free group lessons being included with membership.

There are lots of ingredients that go into you playing the very best golf you can, have you left no stone unturned?

We are once again starting our summer course of lessons, buy 12 and get 15, saving up to £120! These lessons will help you to play your best, by identifying the areas of weakness in your game and then improving them. It might be something technical with your long game, short game or putting. Or perhaps it's a physical or mental issue or just that you've got into some bad decision making habits during a round. Either me, Nick or Graham can definitely help. Many of the people winning the competitions at Eaton on a regular basis have had, or are having a course of lessons from us.

One of the other big ingredients is equipment. This time of year sees us selling a lot of power trolleys, pair of shoes and of course clubs and balls. Even a faulty zip on a golf bag can be a distraction leading to a poor shot! Don't leave anything to chance, come and discuss your requirements with us and we'll do our very best to help.
