Ladies Founders Day Joy for Sarah and Jen
Congratulations to Sarah Evans and Jen Russell on winning the gross and nett prizes respectively in some style.
Sarah, playing off 18 handicap shot a fabulous 94 gross to win by a clear 2 shots from serial winners Penny Pilling, Val Leonard, Paula Hague and Sue Goodyer. Sarah is a well-known long hitter who obviously got it all together to produce this fine win.
Jen also had a great day winning the best nett prize with a nett 76 beating Sarah on a card play-off. With CSS being 76 on the day I think both had fabulous performances.
Black Tee Medal
On the Men's side one of my favourite sayings 'form is temporary, class is permanent' once again came true. In the Black tee Medal on Saturday, Mark McNamee had a 40 front, bogey'd the 10th and then had a hole-in-one on the 11th hole! He then used his experience and class to retain composure and shoot level par for the last 7 holes to finish with a 75-7=68 to win division 1.
In division 2 Shaun Greasley had a nett 69 to beat form man Jason Bowdler on a card play-off.
Special mention to new member Phil Sharp who announced his arrival at the club in style with a nett 64 to win division 3 in the yellow tees medal on the same day. My putting project for the year, Nick Cauldwell had a nett 71 to win division 2.
Well done to all.
