Studio up and running Our new lighting will be installed on Monday and then I'll be inviting a few people to play some holes with me on our very own simulator. We will be running some fun nearest the pin competitions on Wednesdays and Saturdays, challenging you to skills tests and also the system will be available for you and your friends to hire out. Pricing will be £30 per hour, which should be enough time for a two ball to play nine holes on lots of different courses. Not only is it away from the wind and rain it's a great way to keep your game in great shape all the year-round. Here's a photo of the famous 7th hole at Pebble Beach. If you haven't been on one before call into the pro shop for a FREE 5-minute session, or click here.

Are you due a service?
As we build-up to the beginning of the 2020 golfing season, now is the time to address your equipment and whether it needs some TLC. One of the most common occurrences I see with amateur golfers’ equipment is having worn out grips. There are many factors that can negatively affect, including:
- Gripping the club too tightly, causing tension in your hands, wrists and arms - Slick grips will lead to difficulty in maintaining clubface control - In-consistent shot shapes - Drop in confidence
So, if you are interested in upgrading your grips this winter, pop into the Pro Shop for more information? |
A new addition
The latest addition to the studio is Graham’s baby, an adjustable slope Zen-style putting green. Designed by our very own Roy Claxton and built by his chief engineer at Claxton International, Gordon. Running at 10.5’ on the stimp metre, it's a great addition to our putting lessons and wider coaching offering.

New booking system I have recently changed the online system that I use to book lessons. I was one of the first Professional's in the UK to use an online system but this new one is a serious upgrade.
Head over to my website, billtye.co.uk and you can now book lessons with Nick and Graham as well as me.
You can also book the swing studio for practice or full simulation sessions. |
Seeing double Marc Leishman and Lucas Herbert added to their home nations celebrations by making it a double Aussie delight at the Farmers Insurance Open and Omega Dubai Desert Classic respectively. Sunday 26th January was Australia Day so Lucas Herbert’s first European Tour victory couldn’t have been better timed as the Victoria native overcame South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout in a nervy playoff. The Australian whitewash was completed later in the day, as Marc Leishman kept a host of big names behind him to wrap up the Farmers Insurance Open by one from Jon Rahm to make it five PGA Tour wins for the Aussie.
