As we head towards another weekend in lockdown, we hope you and your family are well. In last week's newsletter, I wrote that I was working with a friend, who has a steel fabrication business, with a view to providing a cheaper alternative to the golf practice nets like the ones we have at Eaton. He can make a high-quality product but not at a cheaper price than similar currently available commercially. So, it's currently on a back burner. If my normal suppliers run out of stock, and can't replace quickly, perhaps he can help me fulfil and future orders that I receive. During the last week, I have supplied a 3m cube, top quality net with archery baffle strike area and a superb mat to one of the members at Eaton. I sourced this through golfswingsystems.co.uk who provide me with a small commission on any products ordered following recommendations from me. Have a look and see whether there is anything you fancy, for your garden or garage to help keep your golf going during lockdown, and in the order notes please add EATON GC/BILL TYE. If you don't already, please follow me on Twitter, @BillTyeGolf where you will see all sorts of news and tips. If you have any to share, please email me, bill@billtye.co.uk and I'll happily post them. Why not practice your chipping in the garden? A great way to improve is to pick a small target, start with a bucket and try to land a ball straight into it. You need good distance and direction control of course, but controlling the flight is so important for this game. You only need to be 5-10m away to make it tricky. If the bucket proves too easy try a plastic measuring jug or small watering can. Play until you've got one in, or set a target of 3,5 or 10! You should focus on staying relaxed and connected. Let me know how you get on, send me a video of your efforts and I'll reply with a free tip or two! Following their weekly meeting, The Board have offered to help my business during lockdown by allowing me to go into the shop to collect and post any items I have in stock that you might like to buy. They are aware that online golf retailers are still trading and don't want you to buy from them when you can support your golf club shop. For their continued support, I am extremely grateful. If you want to take advantage of this initiative please email me with your requirements, and remember if you want to top your account up first I'm still offering 10% extra free when you do. See below. Please be aware that most of the companies like Callaway, Titleist and Motocaddy etc are currently closed due to lockdown and cannot ship any goods to any retailer. However today I was notified that Powakaddy are now open again and hopefully the rest will follow soon. The online retailers regularly list products, take your money and then order from our suppliers. They cannot fulfil until restrictions are lifted! Stay safe, and enjoy the rest of the read. Bill. |
