It’s been really great to see so many of you over the last couple of weeks, lockdown is now a distant memory for most of us. I hope it won’t be too long before those members who are self-isolating are able to come and join the rest of us at Eaton. From Monday, we will be able to allow you back into the shop with the social distancing measures being strictly adhered to. These will mean sanitising your hands before entering, the shop door will be open so no need to touch it, only two customers in at a time, I will have a one-way system in place, and then sanitise upon leaving. Whilst in the shop, please feel free to spend as much money as you possibly can! Many of you will be pleased to have had the green light to play competitions again, I am personally delighted to be able to look after the running of the competitions on behalf of the men’s and ladies committees. My staff and I will do our very best to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. I have been very grateful to you all for your kind words whilst we have been dealing with the current day to day situation. It has been constantly changing and I hope that the efforts of The Board and me and my staff have fulfilled/exceeded your expectations since your return to play. It has been interesting giving social distancing golf lessons, changing (for me) the habits of a lifetime in helping players improve their game, but given the number of lessons we are doing, it seems that you are all confident in our determination to follow absolute best practice whilst COVID-19 remains a threat. One area of your game that may still be a little rusty after months away from the course is your short game. So, to give you some much-needed inspiration, scroll down to our Video of the Week and watch one of the world’s best in action. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of the read, Bill.
