Hello Golfers,

It was fairly typical of the way our Centenary year has been going that our first men’s competition should get cut short by lightning and torrential rain. Many members including the Captain himself didn’t even get started! I can only assume that it’s all Simon’s fault! It can’t be down to Vice Captain Phil since he played a dry and sunny 18 holes early in the morning.

This week’s other development is that the nets are now available for use, another tiny step towards normality.

This weekend marks both the longest day of the year and Father’s Day. So, if there’s anything golf-related that you want or if you need to buy a last-minute gift before Sunday, we are here to help.

The PGA Tour is back

Did you manage to catch a glimpse of the PGA Tour’s return last weekend?

It was quite a stellar field with lots of the world’s best taking the opportunity to dust off the cobwebs ahead of what’s set to be a fantastic few months in the golfing calendar.

One player that caught our eye was Bryson DeChambeau. Now, he’s known as being very scientific and analytic in his approach to the game. For example, he’s been seen spraying water over his balls on the range to mimic the dewy conditions he finds himself in during the early morning rounds. Not a bad idea!

Well, the American looked like a completely different person last week and has spent much of the past few months hitting the gym in a bid to add extra distance to his game. Something he vowed he would do last year and has truly delivered!

That being said, if you feel like you want to hit the ball further, it could take something as simple as a little tweak to your swing – an area we can certainly help with!

A simple question

Spotlight | Callaway's Triple Track alignment

What you see in this picture is Callaway's latest innovation to help golfers hole more putts.

It's called Triple Track technology.

It was introduced last year on the ERC Soft golf ball but has been added to the brand new Chrome Soft for 2020, as well as the Odyssey Triple Track putters that you can see here.

By having the three prominent lines on your ball and/or putter (it makes a great combination), your alignment and accuracy on the greens should improve.
