Billy rules!

I've been asked by a few members who are newer golfers to do some short rules pieces, so here's the first in my new feature, Billy rules!

If my ball has finished on a path, I am entitled to a free drop and must drop the ball within one-club-length (not nearer the hole) of the nearest point of complete relief from the path. Many players incorrectly drop the ball on the side that suits them best when they should make sure that they have measured this carefully.

You've hit a perfect drive on a hole into the fairway and you are a 6-iron distance away from the pin which is in the middle of the green, there's no wind but it's not a 6 iron! Why?

How are your grips?

It's easy to overlook the condition of your grips until they're so shiny you can see your reflection in them, but, as we're heading into winter, now is the right time to let us check them over for you, FREE of charge.

Some might just need a clean (we'll do that for FREE too) or you might need some re-gripped. We'll check that they are the correct size for you too. Remember, your grips are your only contact with the club!

Spikes, cleats or spikeless?

Whichever you prefer they need to be in good condition to provide you with the traction your swing needs, and also to keep you safe from slipping and potentially injuring yourself.

Once again, a FREE service we provide is checking the condition of your only contact with the ground.

Getting it right

Finding the right putter throws up a lot of questions: Putter length? Toe hang or face-balanced? And, of course, blade or mallet? As you’ll see on Tour, everybody has their own preference. But let’s put that final question under the microscope for a second.
