Course

The design utilises natural woodland, copses and ponds and gently undulates incorporating two streams. The USPGA greens are large and finely contoured. Members and visitors can select to play off any of the four different tees; black, white, yellow or red.

Donald Steel made good use of the natural Cheshire countryside in designing our parkland course. Two streams thread through the course and are carried from the tees or traversed onto greens as a feature and challenge on some of the holes. On others ponds have been established to be crossed or avoided through good straight shots.

As a consequence of the use of the natural features as hazards, Eaton is not a heavily bunkered course. The subtle contours and slopes of the excellent greens provide a final challenge to making a good score.

However, all levels of player can enjoy Eaton. With four courses, from the longest black tees to the shortest red, members and visitors can take on a challenge appropriate to their game.

Each hole contains up to three distance marker discs - white for 200yd, yellow for 150 yd and red for 100yd. There are also 150 yd marker posts off each side of the fairway. All the measurements are to the centre of the green. The marker discs are immovable obstructions and relief without penalty may be taken. The distance posts are removable.
